0.6/1 kV Cu/XLPE/STA/PVC Direct-Burial Power Cable

N2XBY is an XLPE insulated, steel tape armoured and PVC sheathed low-voltage power cable. It is the international counterpart of YJV22 and is manufactured for direct-burial and mechanically exposed fixed routes to IEC 60502-1, DIN VDE 0276-603 or GB/T 12706.
Two helically applied galvanised steel tapes provide radial crush and impact protection. The armour is designed for horizontal underground routes; installations with high axial tensile load should use N2XRY/YJV32 steel wire armoured cable.

Engineer & Procurement FAQ

Is N2XBY the same as YJV22?

They are functionally equivalent Cu/XLPE/PVC-bedded/steel-tape-armoured/PVC cables in different standard systems. The nominated IEC, VDE or GB standard must be stated on the purchase order.

Can N2XBY be directly buried?

Yes. Its steel tape armour is designed for radial mechanical protection in horizontal direct-burial routes. Burial depth and additional route protection must follow the applicable local installation code.

What is the difference between N2XBY and N2XRY?

N2XBY uses steel tape armour for high radial crush protection. N2XRY uses steel wire armour and provides greater axial tensile strength for vertical, suspended or high-tension routes.

What does “22” mean in YJV22?

The first 2 denotes steel tape armour and the second 2 denotes a PVC outer sheath in the GB cable designation system.

What conductor sizes and core counts are available?

Project supply covers 1.5–400 mm² and 1–5 cores, including 3+1, 3+2 and 4+1 constructions.

Can ANPU supply LSZH or flame-retardant N2XBY?

Yes. WDZ/LSZH, flame-retardant and fire-resistant derivatives are available when the required standard and fire classification are confirmed before production.

What armour inspections are performed?

ANPU checks steel tape thickness, width, overlap and galvanising continuity in addition to electrical routine tests and dimensional inspection.

What documents are supplied with the cable?

Factory routine test records, packing lists and drum labels are available. SGS, Bureau Veritas, TÜV or Intertek inspection can be arranged.
