What is a national standard cable?

National standard cable, literally understood as wires and cables produced in strict accordance with national standards. our country has clear regulations on the appearance, mechanical strength, insulation of the sheath, compressive strength, wire resistance and other aspects of the cable, and different types of cables have different national standards, mainly as follows:

Irradiated cross-linked power cable (0·6/1KV) implementation standard: GB/T12706.1-2008

Medium voltage cross-linked cable (6/6KV-26/35KV) implementation standard: GB/T12706.2-2008

High-voltage cross-linked cable (64/110KV) implementation standard: GB/T11017-[/B]2002

Control cable (450/750V) implementation standard: GB9330-88

Aluminum strand and steel core aluminum strand (0·6/1KV) implementation standard: GB/T1179-1999

How to identify national standard cables?

To see. see if there is a quality system certificate; see if the certificate is standardized; See if there is a factory name, factory address, inspection seal, and production date; See if the wire is printed with trademarks, specifications, voltage, etc. It also depends on the cross-section of the copper core of the wire, the color of the excellent copper is bright and soft, otherwise it is a defective product.

Try. You can take a wire head and bend it repeatedly by hand, where it feels soft, has good anti-fatigue strength, plastic or rubber has a large elasticity and no cracks on the wire insulator, it is a superior product.

Weigh. Good quality wires are generally within the specified weight range. For example, the commonly used plastic insulated single-stranded copper core wire with a cross-sectional area of 1.5mm2 weighs 1.8~1.9kg per 100 meters, and the weight of 2.5mm2 plastic insulated single-strand copper core wire is 3~3.1kg per 100 meters.

Look at the copper. Qualified copper core wire copper core should be purple-red, shiny, and soft to the touch. The copper core of the counterfeit copper core wire is purple-black, yellowish or white, with many impurities, poor mechanical strength, poor toughness, and will break with a little force, and there is often a broken wire in the wire. When checking, you only need to peel off the wire 2cm at one end, and then rub it slightly on the copper core with a piece of white paper. In addition, the insulation layer of counterfeit and inferior wires looks very thick, but in fact most of them are made of recycled plastic, and over time, the insulation layer will age and leak.

Look at the price. Due to the low production cost of counterfeit and shoddy wires, vendors often sell them at low prices under the guise of low price and good quality, which makes people fall for it.

“Non-standard/enterprise/market national standard” and “resistance protection national standard”?

When many sales companies are asked whether it is a national standard cable, they often hear words such as “market national standard” and “national standard for resistive protection”.

National standard for resisting electricity: Cables are used to energize the conductor, and the resistance value of the conductor directly affects the conductivity. If the conductor resistance is too large, the conductivity is poor, and when a large current passes through, a large amount of heat will be generated, which will cause a fire. At the same time, due to the large resistance, it will also produce heat and inactive power consumption.

Resistive cable is to ensure that the resistance value of the cable is in line with the national standard, but it does not guarantee that the constituent materials of the cable are produced in full accordance with the national standard, such as the square number of conductors, insulation, sheathing, etc. To put it bluntly, manufacturers use various technological innovations (or means) to reduce material costs to make cables reach safe use conditions.

Note that two words are used here: innovation and means. Innovation refers to reducing costs through technological innovation, such as current aluminum alloy conductors, special-shaped conductors, etc., such cables reduce prices under the premise of ensuring safe use. Some manufacturers reduce costs through some illegal means, such as using second-generation materials, reducing conductor purity, etc., even if the resistance value of such a cable is within the standard range, its use is extremely unsafe, and such cables must be screened again and again when purchasing.

“Enterprise standard/non-standard/market national standard”: These words are easy to understand, “enterprise standard/non-standard” is non-national standard cable, the price is extremely low, and it is extremely unsafe. “Market national standard” generally refers to 90% off cable (or 95% off), you must not regard it as a national standard, you must ask clearly. In addition, it should be noted that the enterprise standard is higher than the national standard according to reason, but the country is indeed the opposite!

In recent years, there have been more and more fire accidents caused by unqualified wires and cables, and many of them are due to the lack of cable knowledge and the purchase of unqualified products. The production and procurement of national standard cables is the obligation and responsibility of each of us, so as to ensure the safety of power-up and the healthy development of the cable market.
